Step 1: Check Eligibility

Step 2: Create a myNSFAS Account

  1. Visit nsfas.org.za and click “myNSFAS” → “Register”
  2. Enter your ID number, full names, email & cellphone
  3. Create a password and upload your South African ID copy
  4. Verify your account via the OTP link sent by email/SMS

Step 3: Log In & Complete Application

  1. Login to myNSFAS using your ID and password
  2. Start a new application
  3. Fill in personal, academic, and contact details
  4. Select your institution and programme

Step 4: Upload Supporting Documents

  • Certified copy of your ID or birth certificate
  • Parents’/guardian’s IDs and proof of income (payslips, UIF, IRP5, affidavit)

  • Sign the funding agreement
